PIECES OF A PROCESS

There’s no one-size-fits-all plan for every project, but some things always make sense.

1.

The Creative Brief

First, we need to identify our users and their needs, define the problem we want to solve, explore possible solutions, assess available resources, define a timeline, clarify what 'done' looks like, and establish metrics for measuring success.

PREFERRED TOOLS:

Miro, Jira, InDesign, analytics

2.

Research & Evaluate

Here, we’ll collect what we know about our users, discover how similar challenges were solved , come to understand what we can build within the given timeline, technology, and resources, and consider how this connects to other user experiences.

PREFERRED TOOLS:

User journeys, user and business owner interviews, personas, heuristic reviews

3.

Design

Collaborate, start with simple sketches, share and iterate on ideas, test and refine our designs, and repeat this process until the project is complete.

PREFERRED TOOLS:

Adobe suite (XD, Illustrator, Photoshop, Firefly, Stock, Fonts), Figma, Zoom, Slack, Miro

4.

Build

Keep the team together, adjust the design as necessary for development efficiency, check the build to ensure the solution matches our design, and create a list of design debt for future projects.

PREFERRED TOOLS:

Sandbox, Jira

5.

Release, Watch, Adjust

Launch the project, measure the results, identify opportunities for improvement, and then start the process again from the beginning.

PREFERRED TOOLS:

HotJar, Google Analytics, Medallia, Jira
